Manchester City eased their way to a 4-0 victory over relegation-threatened Wolves at the Molineux Stadium on Saturday afternoon, with Erling Haaland netting a hat-trick in the process. The win keeps City five points clear of the drop zone and moves them level on points with fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League standings. Álvaro Negredo also netted for City, as they extended their lead at the top of the EPL table.
Wolves started brightly and looked like they might cause problems for Manchester City, but it was soon clear that this wouldn’t be an easy game for Guardiola’s side. Haaland took advantage of some sloppy play from Wolves before doubling City’s lead just after the half hour mark. Shortly after halftime, Negredo doubled the lead and then made it three goals just before full time. This was Haaland’s fourth hat-trick of his Manchester City career and he now has ten goals in all competitions this season – more than any other player in club history.

The Norwegian international opened the scoring after just four minutes with a stunning volley before doubling City’s lead midway through the first half. He completed his hat-trick within eight minutes of coming on as a substitute to seal victory and move City two points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
Wolves had chances to reduce the deficit but could not find a way past Sergio Aguero, Ederson and David Silva who controlled proceedings at Etihad Stadium. Guardiola was pleased with his side’s display and is now looking forward to their clash against Chelsea next Sunday.

The Norwegian international has been an important part of City’s attack this season and is now joint top scorer in England alongside Harry Kane.
